Mobileye technology aims to increase pedestrian safety

The Department has partnered with the Florida Department of Transportation, Florida International University, and ROSCO Collision Avoidance Systems to test the Mobileye Shield Plus System, or Mobileye, designed to improve Bus Operator’s visibility and safety in urban areas.

“Mobileye is a new technology that can give our Bus Operators an extra set of eyes in heavy pedestrian areas. Often, pedestrians will dart out between cars to cross the street and into a driver’s blind spot. We hope Mobileye can help drivers avoid incidents with bicyclists and pedestrians that occur in those situations.
